Farmworkers touch our lives every day through picking the fruit and vegetables that end up on our plates at every meal. Ironically, many farmworkers suffer from malnutrition and food scarcity due to poor wages, lack of work, transportation difficulties and rural isolation. Farmworkers are also frequently exploited, both on and off the job, therefore denying them workers’ rights, safe and humane living conditions, and a dignified existence.

NC FIELD is a non-profit based in Kinston, North Carolina, in the heart of the state's large-scale agricultural region. NC FIELD works to fill service gaps in the farmworker community, raise awareness of the plight of the farmworker, and empower farmworkers to pursue educational and economic opportunities beyond the fields.

NC FIELD has strong ties to farmworker families in eastern North Carolina, and they have worked to engage and train youth to speak about the realities of working in the fields. They are building a community of bright, young farmworker children ready to advocate for workers' rights.”
