Let’s Talk About Farmworkers & Food Justice!

February 19, 2018 by Yesenia Bustos

PJC Youth joined the Food Youth Initiative, a program of the Center for Environmental Farming Systems, in presenting at the 2018 Food Storm Gathering in Greensboro, NC on February 17, 2018. The Food Storm Gathering connects people doing food and justice work in the Greensboro area. This year’s event focused on the intersection of growing good sustainable food and working with underserved populations to build food sovereignty.

PJC Youth delivered a presentation on the work of PJC and their challenges and successes in advocating for better rights for farmworkers. This presentation educates the community that when talking about food justice, farmworkers should also be included in the conversation. Youth developed on their social skill, public speaking, and networking by attending this event.
