Spring Break means Hiking for PJC Youth

April 6, 2018 by Yesenia Bustos

On April 4th, PJC spent their Spring Break hiking the trails at the Cliffs of the Neuse State Park in Seven Springs, NC.

By hiking and enjoying the outdoors, youth learned about how exercising can lower the risk of heart disease, improving blood pressure and blood sugar levels, and boost their mood. Youth learned about the many activities available at the park such as:

  • Swimmin
  • Hiking
  • Biking
  • Fishing
  • Camping
  • Picknicking and more!

Our hiking trail was led by Park Ranger Eric who educated the youth about the park’s natural resources and the animals that habitat the park. Ranger Eric also informed youth about his career as a park ranger and other career opportunities available at a state park.
