ABOUT ANA MANZANARES
Ana Manzanares is a NC state certified Community Health Worker with a history of work in the food supply, and has strong ties to agricultural workers from Nicaragua and Mexico. She began with NC FIELD during the pandemic to perform outreach to vulnerable communities and help them overcome anxiety and resistance related to COVID-19 vaccines as well as teaching simple strategies to ensure they stayed home when exposed or infected. Ana has excellent interpersonal skills, and can be found regularly ensuring vulnerable community members understand the importance of medication for chronic disease, have sufficient food, arrive at their appointments, and that they go to the hospital as emergencies arise. Ana also prioritizes pregnant, vulnerable immigrant women who have several barriers to overcome in order to ensure they and their newborns are born healthy and as scheduled.
